DONATIONS RAISED FOR WEST CONNECT'S JESSIE STREET CENTRE

04 May 2015

The West Connect Domestic Violence Services support group, which funds the Jessie Street Centre, received a special $2000 donation today courtesy of this years Coral McLean Awards.
The Awards are an annual event organised by Chifley Federal MP Ed Husic.
The Coral McLean Awards both recognise the achievements of local women and help fundraise to support the work of other women in the community, Mr Husic said.
At last months Coral McLean Awards Breakfast we were able to raise $2000 to assist Rooty Hills West Connect Domestic Violence Services, which helps support and rebuild lives for those affected by domestic violence.
Mr Husic visited the Centre today to meet staff and tour the facility.
The Jessie Street Centre assists local women through crisis accommodation, community outreach support, and referrals to women with or without children, Mr Husic said.
Not only does it give women a safe haven, but the Centre offers a safe place to plan new lives. Its important to continue contributing to Jessie Street and ensure they are able to keep providing these vital services in our local area.
Id like to thank everyone who donated to support the critical work of the Centre.
For those who may be experiencing domestic violence, the Jessie Street Centre can be contacted at (02) 9622 7999 or on their website at http://www.jessiestreet.org.au/.
