21st Century school facilities opened across Blacktown

Students and teachers right across Blacktown are already starting to enjoy state-of-the-art facilities, opened this week by Federal Member for Chifley, Ed Husic.

On Wednesday, Mr Husic opened the new administration building and classroom refurbishments at Walters Road Public School in Blacktown at a cost of $3.25 million provided by the Australian Government.

Yesterday, Mr Husic attended a ceremony to mark the opening of new classroom facilities and covered outdoor learning area at Crawford Public School in Doonside worth over $3.2 million.

He also opened the new $2.65 million multipurpose hall at St Patrick’s Primary School in Blacktown.

Mr Husic said he was delighted in the finished products that he has had the opportunity to inspect.

“In every school that I visit, I’m seeing tremendous value for money out of these projects,” Mr Husic said.

“What better place for the Australian Government to invest, than in these kids and the future of our nation.”

“Not only have we invested in the future, but at a time of great financial uncertainty, we invested in jobs – jobs for today.”
