29 reasons for celebration at Bidwill Public School

Bidwill Public School today celebrated an incredible milestone: the official opening of 28 completely refurbished classrooms.

It has been the single biggest renovation and upgrade of the school since it opened its doors in 1975.

The $2.6 million upgrade – including the construction of a massive Covered Outdoor Learning Area – was a result of the Building the Education Revolution Program.

Speaking to parents, teachers and students gathered at the opening, Federal Member for Chifley Ed Husic said he was proud to see the BER funding put to such great use at Bidwill Public School.

“Projects like the covered outdoor learning area and classroom facilities upgrade at Bidwill Public School are making a real difference by improving the learning environment for our children.

“This is an historic investment in the modernisation of our local schools and we will continue to see the benefits of this program for many years to come.”

Mr Husic paid tribute to Principal Hilda Mavromati, teachers, staff, students and parents for their patience during the building program.

“I have no doubt these refurbished classrooms are delivering better education outcomes for students and giving teachers and staff a more enjoyable place to work,” Mr Husic said.
