Joint Media Release with Catherine King MP, Shadow Minister for Health, Member for Ballarat
Labor warmly congratulates Mt Druitt GP Dr Kean-Sing Lim, the 2015 RACGP General Practitioner of the Year.
Dr Lim has been working as a full time General Practitioner in Mount Druitt for 18 years and is a passionate advocate for the health needs of the people of Western Sydney.
Dr Lim is also Secretary of the Mount Druitt Medical Practitioners Association, as well as sitting on the boards of WentWest, Western Sydney Medicare Local and Clinical Advisory Groups for NSW Health and NPS.
Dr Lim was awarded the prestigious honour by the RACGP in recognition of his longstanding commitment to high-quality general practice services and dedication to student training.
The award also recognised his key role in the development of a schools-based obesity prevention and lifestyle education program in western Sydney, which is empowering high school students to make healthy choices for the future.
Labor understands the need to support our General Practitioners as the frontline of efforts to boost the health of our communities and Dr Lim’s award is a reminder of the magnificent service provided by dedicated GPs in neighbourhoods across the nation.
Our local health professionals do an outstanding job and Dr Lim’s award as GP of the Year is well deserved recognition for his tireless work to improve the lives of people within our community.
