Federal Member for Chifley, Ed Husic is inviting local seniors to join him for a “Positive Living and Lifestyle Forum” on Friday 23 March 2012 as part of NSW Seniors Week.
The forum will be a useful information session on the range of services available to Chifley seniors with guest speakers from local community organisations including Centrelink, Respite and Carelink Centre, Blacktown Aquatic Centre and Mount Druitt and Area Legal Centre.
Mr Husic said Seniors Week celebrates and aims to support projects that bring older people and the community together to promote positive, active ageing in NSW.
“Seniors do so much for our local community, particularly through their volunteering efforts and we benefit greatly from their full participation in community life,” Mr Husic said.
“I would hope to see as many of our local seniors attend this forum to hear from the experts about issues that are important to them.”
