MT DRUITT COMMUNITY LEGAL CENTRE LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

04 May 2015

After re-securing their funding from the Abbott Government, the Mt Druitt Area and Community Legal Centre is wasting no time in coming up with new ways to serve the local community.
The Centre formally launched a new website designed to make getting legal help easier for locals.
Federal Member for Chifley Ed Husic welcomed the new website, saying it would be well-received by residents who are often anxious about where to turn to for accessible legal advice.
Ive always believed in the Mt Druitt Area and Community Legal Centre and the value of the services they provide. That is why I fought so hard to secure their funding during the latest rounds of funding cuts from the Abbott Government.
Its great to see the Centre set up this website, which offers easy access to essential information regarding available legal services. This new product shows how determined the Centre is in enhancing the quality and availability of information to members of the community.
The website boasts a modern, colourful design with detailed information on various aspects of the Centres functions, including many special features such as Google Translate with over 80 languages, a request form for follow-up advice, and sample documents for potential clients.
Other new functions include detailed information about the Centres practice areas and frequently asked questions regarding the Centres legal services.
One of the Centres premier solicitors, Ms Vivian Michael, introduced the website at the Mt Druitt Hub on Tuesday, 28 April.
Were excited about improving the accessibility of legal services to the local community through our new website. The site includes access to self-help sample documents and instead of sitting on a phone for advice during our peak hours, people can submit an online request for help, and we can get back to them more easily.
The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW helped fund the website project by generously contributing $9,000 to its development and design.
The website can be found at www.mdclc.org.au.
