$3 MILLION FOR NEW CENTRE AT ST JOHN THE BELOVED IN MT DRUITT
Federal Member for Chifley, Ed Husic today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will contribute $3 million to fund the first stage of a community space at St John the Beloved Maronite Catholic Church in Mt Druitt.
This stage of the development will include a child care centre and car park. The following stages would include multi-purpose rooms to cater for youth, seniors and counselling facilities. This multi-purpose space will also be used for hosting a range of community events and functions benefiting the community at large, across all ages.
As the Mt Druitt area has grown, so too has the St John the Beloved parish and the demands on the services it provides.
The election commitment is another way a re-elected Albanese Labor Government is building a future for all Australians, focused on helping growing communities access the services they need.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to the Hon. Ed Husic MP, Federal Member for Chifley:
“St John the Beloved’s services are bursting at the seams because of the growth in the community.
“Our investment will help ease the strain on the parish to provide much-needed community infrastructure and services, making life easier for busy local families.
“This is another way a re-elected Albanese Labor Government is building a future for all Australians.”
